The exterior blind is a special manner of execution of the venetian blind, which is mounted outside the window and is therefore also referred to as an exterior venetian blind. It also consists of horizontal, reversible slats which cover the whole window or only a part of it, as required. The position of the slats is individually adjustable and determines the light intensity and transparency. The modern façade design with external blinds can be used as an alternative to or in combination with the interior sun protection or privacy shields. As the sunbeams are already caught in front of the window, external blinds simultaneously serve an effective climate control.
